The Seafood Holdings Group consists of 7 depots throughout the UK; Daily Fish London, Direct Seafoods London, Direct Seafoods Colchester, Kingfisher Brixham, Neve Fleetwood, and Taylor Foods Newcastle. These depots produce and distribute fresh fish to the food service Industry. Datos upgraded these 7 depots to Season 11 in Winter 2011.
Seafood Holdings have been a customer of Datos since 2003 and realised that to improve integration and productivity they would require an upgrade from COMiT to Season. Nick Bircham Bardury from Kingfisher Brixham estimates that on the day Season Office is implemented to one of their depots, their efficiency increases by 5%.
The process began in March 2011 with Datos getting an intimate understanding of Seafood Holdings systems and quickly worked to tailor the Season Office and Touch software to fit with their workflow and the way that individual depots worked. Datos developed a unique 'Live Stock' system which is based on yields and weights to predict whole fish availability and ensure their business does not under or over sell stock.
Two depots were upgraded from Season 10.2 and the remaining 5 were upgraded from COMiT. The Kingfisher depot also has 5 Touch terminals
With over 80 Office users between the 7 Depots, it was a huge task to upgrade such a large company. Nick states that despite the stresses of such a big job of upgrading 7 depots in 12 weeks, "This upgrade to Season was simple and straight-forward thanks to the team at Datos."
Seafood Holdings are now about to trial Season Road in selected depots, which will replace paper docket books and delivery notes.
